Scaling a Multi-Collection Shopify Store for HWDS

As Hollywood Design Studio expanded their product range with the launch of the HWDS soft furnishings collection, their platform needed to grow with them. They required a reliable technical partner to manage the complexity of a multi-collection store, deliver new features, and maintain a clean, well-structured platform capable of supporting their ambitions long term.

We served as Hollywood Design Studio's dedicated Shopify technical partner, beginning with a full platform audit to understand what was working, what was not, and where the biggest gains could be made. The audit surfaced a bloated plugin ecosystem with 10 redundant apps quietly accumulating costs without adding value. We consolidated plugins and removed unused ones, saving costs and improving site speed.

With a cleaner foundation in place, we turned our attention to the features the business actually needed. When their existing variant tooling hit its limits, we investigated the alternatives. After building a custom tool, we migrated their products and variants to the new structure.

For one of their campaigns, we evaluated the available solutions and implemented a fully custom integration covering cart validation, gift product redirects, search filtering, and abuse prevention across 11 theme files.

Shipping presented its own challenge. The traditional Shopify shipping setup did not suit their fulfillment model, so we consulted on the options and recommended Parcelify, configuring a proper rules-based structure that aligned with how the business actually operates.
