Diagnosing and fixing a React app
Reworked a UK vehicle history check platform through third-party API migration, a React-on-WordPress frontend fix, and a GCP serverless backend.

The Challenge
The client had requested we look into his application, after it unexpectedly stopped working. With no developer documentation or handover, we needed to quickly identify the problem on our own and find a solution, otherwise the platform would be losing out on revenue.
Our Solution
We started with a comprehensive investigation and debugging of the existing broken systems to fully understand the legacy architecture. We soon realized that the app had been using an API that had been deprecated - causing the platform to come to a standstill. The platform had to be migrated to a new version of the third-party API, including new payload structures and updated logic. This included fixing the React frontend and Google Cloud Run Functions.
Outcomes
- Successfully and quickly identified and fixed the issue, minimizing downtime and financial impact for the client
