Scope

An IoT services provider approached us with the goal of simplifying internal management of their operations. Initially, the requirement was to build a single dashboard that would consolidate their SIM-based solutions into one place. As the project evolved, the scope expanded to include integrations with additional hardware and camera systems, giving them a comprehensive tool for managing their entire IoT ecosystem.

Problem

The client’s team was spending significant time consolidating and cross-referencing data from multiple platforms before it could be shared with customers. This process not only slowed down responses to client enquiries but also introduced risks around data reliability and timeliness. While their communications weren’t chaotic, the scattered nature of their systems meant delays in troubleshooting, slower onboarding of new sites, and limited visibility for both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Solution

We designed and implemented a centralized management platform that brought all their IoT data and operations into one secure environment. Key features included:

  • Centralized site management with real-time IoT and router monitoring.

  • Client-facing portal with user management, giving customers direct visibility into site performance and uptime.

  • Faster onboarding workflows for new clients and sites, reducing manual effort.

  • Robust infrastructure leveraging Supabase for database management, role-level security (RLS), and proper user authentication.

  • Custom firmware development to optimize router performance and improve device reliability.

This unified approach ensured accurate cross-validation of data, improved system reliability, and streamlined enquiry management.

Conclusion

The platform delivered immediate operational benefits: faster troubleshooting times, greater cross-system visibility, and significantly reduced effort in managing client enquiries. Importantly, clients themselves reported that they valued the ability to directly access and monitor their site data - empowering them with visibility that was previously limited by fragmented systems.

By centralizing data and operations, the business was able to focus more on growth and client service, while their customers gained confidence in the transparency, reliability, and performance of their IoT services.
