Rebuilding a Subscription Platform for Scale
The Scope
A subscription-based platform engaged with us after experiencing development issues on their Wordpress platform and described need for increased stability, performance, and scalability. They wanted the site to be fully operational and also reimagined for growth - both in features and in user experience.
The Problem
Although launched, the WordPress-based platform was showing its limits: load times were slower than desired, user flows through the application had friction, and making changes was becoming increasingly complex. The system architecture was not well optimized for long-term growth, which meant enhancements, workflows, and new feature delivery were taking more effort than they should.
The Solution
Over the course of six weeks, we redesigned and rebuilt the platform using Next.js with Supabase as the backend. Key enhancements included:
Dramatically faster load times and smoother navigation, improving the overall user experience.
Clearer, more efficient internal workflows for approvals and rejections, giving the team better insight and control.
Subscription functionality integrated via Lemon Squeezy, allowing businesses to subscribe directly in-app.
Migration of the database from WordPress to Supabase, for enhanced scalability, performance, and security.
Integration with content management and analytics tools - Strapi for blog content, Google Analytics and Umami for user and performance insights.
Conclusion
Launched in a fraction of the time (six weeks vs. the initial 11 months), the new platform delivers significantly improved performance, a more intuitive user journey, and modern subscription features. With scalable infrastructure, integrated analytics, and better internal visibility, the platform is now well positioned for growth - empowering both end users and internal teams with speed, clarity, and reliability.
